For more than three centuries, the women of this parish have been a steady presence of devotion, leadership, and care.
The Women of Rock Creek Parish (WRCP), part of the wider fellowship of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW), continue that legacy today. Every woman of St. Paul’s is already a member, sharing in a tradition that links us to the larger life of the Church.
A Legacy of Faithful Service
From the parish’s earliest days, the Women of Rock Creek nurtured the life of the Church by:
Teaching Sunday school and leading Bible study Raising funds for prayer books, hymnals, and sacred vessels Furnishing the silver and linens that adorn the altar.
Their dedication shaped the worship and witness of St. Paul’s, ensuring that beauty, learning, and welcome flourished in this sacred place.
The Strawberry Festival
In the wake of fire, the Women of Rock Creek turned resilience into celebration by founding the Strawberry Festival—a feast of fellowship and hope. More than157 years later, the festival remains a cherished neighborhood tradition, a sign of renewal and joy in the heart of Rock Creek.
Women of Rock Creek Today
The WRCP continues to support parish and diocesan ministries through scholarships, service projects, donations, and volunteer work. From sustaining beloved traditions to responding to new needs, the Women of Rock Creek embody a living witness of generosity and faith.
We warmly invite all women of St. Paul’s to share in this fellowship of service and joy. Join us as we carry forward a legacy that is both historic and alive with possibility.
